Low Altitude Authorization and
Notification Capability (LAANC) was released this year, gradually throughout the country, and it made a huge difference for certified remote pilots. Approvals that typically take 90 days are now reduced to real-time authorizations to fly at a certain altitude. It is still not legal to take off in a state park, so I went to a nearby neighborhood and was still able to maintain Visual Line of Sight while capturing one of Hollywood's landmarks.
