Hundreds of thousands of ships carrying thousands more containers pass through the Bay every year. It's not uncommon to see several dozen line the horizon day in and out. There is even a site where boat nerds can track their movement.
I was driving across the Bay Bridge, toward San Francisco this past summer and saw this one pass under. Its vibrant colors caught my attention and when it was apparent it was heading toward Potrero Hill and not Port of Oakland, I exited the freeway and took off near AT&T Park, catching it just as it was about to dock for the evening.
Sometimes the best shots aren't planned. My trusty Phantom 4 Pro captured this image just as the sun was about to set.
